Kanye West, also known as Ye, has stirred up controversy once again with an outrageous casting call posted on X this past Sunday. In the post, West announced that he’s assembling a “hooligan choir” to perform the sound of Vultures’ hit song “Carnival” from his latest album.
The casting call comes with a string of explicit requirements. West specified that all applicants must be male and went as far as to ban “fat people.” He further stated that volunteers must have a skin complexion at least as dark as music mogul Sean Combs and either sport a shaved head or be willing to shave it. To cap things off, participants are also required to be “comfortable wearing swastikas.”
This provocative call was posted just a day after West released a song featuring disgraced hip hop mogul Diddy—who is currently serving time in prison facing multiple sexual assault charges—and after dragging his 11-year-old daughter, North West, into legal disputes involving his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
This isn’t the first time West has pushed boundaries. In February, he was widely criticized for selling swastika shirts on his website following inflammatory comments against Jewish people.
With this latest stunt, Kanye West continues to blur the lines between art and provocation, leaving the public and his critics in yet another state of disbelief.
