New mother Deepika Padukone, who welcomed her daughter Dua into the world last September alongside Ranveer Singh, recently opened up about the challenges of balancing her new role as a mom with her professional life.
A New Chapter in Life
Deepika and Ranveer, one of Bollywood’s most adored couples, introduced their baby girl, Dua Padukone Singh, as the answer to their prayers. Shortly after her arrival, the couple was seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. However, since becoming a mother, Deepika has reportedly taken a break from film shoots.
Navigating Motherhood and Career
Speaking at the Forbes 30/50 Global Summit in Abu Dhabi, Deepika shared her honest reflections on managing motherhood and work. “I think where I’m at in my life right now is how do I manage my time as a mother, as a new mother, with getting back to – and I’m sure there’s some incredible women here who can give me some wise advice – but to be able to manage my daughter and her life and getting back to work without feeling guilt. I think that is something I’m figuring out. I won’t say I am struggling with, but I’m still figuring it out,” she revealed.
Looking Ahead
Deepika also touched upon how motherhood might influence her future career choices. “Yes, I think motherhood in itself has been so incredible that I’m sure somewhere, if not consciously, subconsciously, it will influence the kind of movies and the roles that I choose to do moving forward. Having said that, I do believe that I’ve been pretty aware and conscious even before motherhood,” she explained.
Rumors of a Comeback
Amid these personal revelations, buzz has been circulating about Deepika’s potential comeback. Rumors suggest that she might team up with Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh for a special music video, possibly choreographed by Farah Khan—the director who gave her Bollywood debut in Om Shanti Om (2007). Fans are eagerly waiting to see what unfolds next.
Deepika’s candid discussion highlights the complexities of embracing new motherhood while carefully planning a return to the demanding world of cinema. As she continues to navigate this new phase of life, her journey remains an inspiring testament to the evolving balance between family and career.
