The footage, taken in Seoul’s Apgujeong Rodeo area, captured the actor smoking while holding a woman’s hand before tossing his cigarette onto the road near parked cars. The incident sparked backlash, leading Choi Hyun Wook to address the controversy personally.
On October 5, his agency, Gold Medalist, released a statement acknowledging his actions, stating, “Choi Hyun Wook recognizes his mistake and is deeply reflecting. We sincerely apologize to everyone who was disappointed.”
