Mr Cumberbatch pursued a BA in drama at Manchester University and holds an MA in classical acting. On the other hand, Miss Watson obtained her degree from Brown University in the US.
Mr Rusbridger further stated, ‘Some of the individuals we are announcing today did not attend university. One of them even left school at the age of 16. We believe there is much to be gained from their experiences, and we trust they will value their time here.’
Although visiting fellowships are typically awarded to scholars and academics, only one of the 11 new fellows is an academic – Jennifer Rohn, a cell biologist at University College London.
