“‘I discovered links to P Diddy and Russell Brand scandal claims in cursed film'”.NhuY

Get Him To The Greek has one of the most cursed casts in Hollywood, and Daily Star reporter Bekka Barnard gave a deep analysis below.

Starring P Diddy (real name Sean Combs), Russell Brand and Jonah Hill, the trio have all been caught up in a series of Hollywood scandals with serious claims made against them since the film was released back in 2010. While rewatching the film, I couldn’t believe how eerily similar some of their lines mirrored the cast’s real life controversies and alleged scandals.

During Diddy’s first on-screen appearance, the rapper quips a notably uncanny line when considering his recent arrest – charged with sex trafficking and racketeering – and the impact this has had on Hollywood’s biggest stars. Following the incident, any famous face even marginally associated with the I’ll Be Missing You hitmaker has been closely scrutinised, with particular focus on anyone who attended his infamous mansion parties.

Sean has denied all of the allegations made against him.

During the incredibly loud outburst, Combs’ character Sergio screams: “S— is serious out here. The music business is failing. The bubble done popped!” Throughout the film, Diddy plays a wildly insufferable record label boss who doesn’t stop shouting, swearing and screaming at anyone who dares cross his path.

However, out of all the rapper’s cringe-worthy scenes – of which there are quite a few – one particularly vile interaction made my skin crawl. While staring at Jonah Hill dead in the eyes, Diddy recites: “It’s called mind-f——-. You ever been mind-f—— before? I’m mind-f—— you right now. Can you feel my d— f—— your mind? See, that’s the art of it. I’m mind-f—— the s— out of you.”

Russell plays his usual obnoxious self through his role as Aldous Snow during Get Him To The Greek’s 1 hour 54 minute run time, but at one point Brand ditches the bad boy attitude for a far more sinister persona. After hurling a number of insults at his mother, Russell’s character fakes a sickly sweet voice and coos: “I’m only joking, I love you mummy. I’m your special little soldier, int I?”

One thing immediately sprang to mind – back in 2023, claims were made against Brand by a woman who alleged that the comedian, who would have been 31-years-old at the time, sexually assaulted her when she was just 16 and referred to her as “the child” and a “little dolly”.

“Alice” (not her real name) alleged: “He was like: ‘Oh my god, my baby, my baby, and picked me up and cradled me in his arms like a child and was stroking my hair. He’s like: ‘You’re my little dolly’.” She also claimed that Brand asked her to read Lolita, a book about a grown man who becomes infatuated with a 12-year-old girl.

Russell has stated that he “absolutely refutes” what he described as “very serious allegations” made against him.

During one scene with Jackie Q, Russell’s on-screen love interest played by Rose Byrne, Q asks Aldous to “stop now” as Snow gives her a disgusted look and cries: “That’s not fair, I wasn’t finished! That’s not fair, that’s not equal!” while the singer tries (and fails) to convince her to carry on.

Lead star Jonah Hill, who plays Aaron Green, was also part of a serious scandal after ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady accused the actor of being “emotionally abusive” back in July 2023. The professional surfer took to her Instagram Stories to post screenshots of Hill’s alleged demands for “boundaries” in their relationship.

The snaps claimed that Jonah told Sarah she wasn’t allowed to “surf with men,” “model,” “post pictures of herself in a bathing suit,” “post sexual pictures” or have “friendships with women who are in unstable places”.

Although there isn’t a direct correlation to these exact claims in the film, other outrageous scenes show Aaron shouting down the phone at his sleep-deprived nurse girlfriend Daphne, exhibiting gaslighter-type behaviour and even cheating on her multiple times.

Overall, Get Him To The Greek was a jaw-droppingly controversial film (I haven’t even touched upon Aldous’ horrendous hit single African Child) with a lead cast lineup to boot, making for a dreadful cringefest that falls flatter than flat when watching over 14 years on – be warned.
